Set The Table: Episode 14 – Improv Skills

This time John and Jack talk about improv skills! What improv means to us, how to get started, how to practice, give some live examples of quick ideas that have the potential to be one of our most cherished and memorable adventures.

Practice is so important and we talk about opportunities to practice, ways to get help, and how to build your experience in general.

We also talk briefly about a few tabletop board games that you could play to help improve your improv, including: Once Upon A Time, Before There Were Stars, and Tales of the Arabian Nights.

Finally we talk about a pulling inspiration in an instant from movies, tv, books, and other media you/your group enjoy, and not worrying about the small things, until they grow on their own.

Remember to create something for the other people at the table to build upon, listen not just to respond, but to understand, and think about when you’re most creative and work around your own creative energy.
